The term commercial property insurance refers to the coverage of losses to real and personal property. These losses can result from many sources. There are some policy forms that list specific named perils and a more comprehensive “special” form. In some cases though, these forms can be expanded with endorsements to cover losses that might arise. For example, endorsements are commonly used to provide broader coverage for losses due to backup of sewers and drains, damage to outdoor signs, etc.
